Grant Hill responds to Jalen Rose uncle Tom comments

I love it! I don't even know who this Rose character is. I'm assuming that Fab five refers to the Michigan team that Chris Webber was a part of. I do know who Grant Hill is, even though I don't follow basketball at any level. If memory serves, they all left school to go to the NBA. I wonder if they went back and got their degrees, especially Rose.

Your comment sucks.
For most every political enemy that we are told they are evil scum, that enemy is told the same about us but the truth is most always that the majority of people on either side get caught in the middle of a small minority's mindgames and both sides commit evil scummy acts.
The USA could still have happened without war. The Colonists just wanted to be left alone, it was the Brits who wanted war. Americans would likely still have a good Constitution if the Limeys had done the right thing and moved on before things escalated into war.
Perhaps instead of making war with the natives, they could have all stood together against the Brits and there would have been no need for the Brits to fight an unwinnable war. Or mabey they could have decided to settle things with a Jenga tournament.
My point is that wars hurt and kill people and that's not good for anything.

huuh

So what is war good for then?

Illuminaughty said...

Shall we begin with the establishment of America? Frankly, I brace for your response.

Anonymous said...

So are you trying to say that America could not have been established without war?

John said...

England put taxes on the colonies to pay for the French-Indian War. They had a problem with that and it escalated to war. If King George would have listened to colonial reps. then maybe North America would still be part of the British Empire today.

War is declared by nations but they are fought by common people. Great civilizations are built on war and conquest. Its not something to be proud of but it's reality. It's what follow will go if thier is another war.

Anonymous said...

"So what is war good for then?"

Wow!! what a rhetorical question.

Ok dood. The phrase "dont start any shit and there wont be any shit." Aprapo!

The real question of any Merit is...why provoke it?

Looking through a blackened eye
I felt the pain but couldn’t cry
I tried to speak and felt the rip
From swollen tongue and busted lip.

I reached for you to hold you near
I loved you still throughout my fear
You turned your back and walked away
I layed there bleeding begging you to stay.

The lighting faded as I laid down my head
Remembering the very last words that you said
“Why do you make me hit you? It’s your fault ya know?”
…And with my last heart beat.. I just let go…

(I wrote this poem after a very abusive relationship.
It is all too familiar to many that have been there.)~SZI~ sziqzi0 Rome, NY, US

Anonymous said...

I noticed you highlighted this by bold font...“Why do you make me hit you?"

How does this apply to provoking war by means of great loss of life to your citizens?

Anonymous said...

Iraq for example was an excellent example of an abusive relationship. The nation of Iraq has still done nothing to actually harm the US yet the people were murdered and invaded and conquered by the US, supposedly justified by what ifs.

And what you just described I would call starting a war, not provoking war.

John said...

Maybe if the Bush administration would have put the focus on Bin Laden instead of Iraq we might have taken cared of Bin laden sooner.

Anonymous said...

"The nation of Iraq has still done nothing to actually harm the US."

BS. The leader of that nation Iraq and the IIS(plotted)to assassinate one of our x-presidents in Kuwait. A foiled plot but an attempt just the same. That within itself is an act of war. Saddam harboring the 1993 wtc bomb maker Yasin. Yet another act of war to aide and abet a wanted fugitive. BTW six people were killed and 1000+ injured. Yet somehow you say Iraq the nation didnt harm the US, well duh the nation maybe not, but its leaders and the IIS did and provided safe haven those that did.

...."supposedly justified by what ifs."

WHAT IFS?? Another reason Bush gets a pass by me is Hussein signed a cease fire agreement. He violated the cease fire for 12 years.

The three main reasons i listed have ZERO to do with what ifs. They are factual.

BTW John you dont know that to be true. Pure speculation by you.

Anonymous said...

Key points: "in Kuwait", in Iraq

The fact still remains that Iraq has never attacked the United States.

BTW I agree with John's speculation, it seems like common sense to me.

Anonymous said...

"The fact still remains that Iraq has never attacked the United States."

Never said they did on our soil, yet in a way they did. The fact still remains Saddams people attempted to assassinate a x-President of the US. Saddam Harbored Yasin and is guilty of making the bomb himself that killed our people. By our legal standards he did indeed attack the US.

Look up: aid and abet Law Definition.

Twelve years of violations and deceit, they got there asses handed to them. Iraq and its people are better off now IMHO.

You can agree with John, but its still pure speculation. Besides the Bush administration did not focus on Iraq. The troops were in Afgahan as well, so to say the Bushies focused on Iraq is BS. No matter how long it took to kill OBL it doesnt mean they werent focused on getting him. Saddam couldnt leave Iraq, but OBL left Afghan in a hurry. So missed at tora bora, soon to be found hiding in Pakistan. Different region, different tactics and timeframes.

Get informed and stop speculating. If i was to speculate i would say you both prefered OBL's death over Sadamms. So all is good then.

John said...

Well again if the focus was on taking out Bin Laden and his forces at the beginning then maybe he would have been dead a long while ago.(Yes I'm speculating.)
The full force of our inteligence community would have been focus in the Pakistan/Afganistan area and just maybe we might stopped things like the terror bombing in Madrid and London from happening. (I'm speculating) We might have sooner gathered intel on how "AQ" was funded how they communicated and what and how a cell operates.(I'm speculating)

As for Iraq.. Like a lot of supporters of that "clusterfuck" Some people "speculate" that Iraq had something to do with 9/11?. They didn't. The Bush administration lied about Wmd's and when those lies was discovered they made up new reasons to go to war in Iraq.

Anonymous said...

"The Bush administration lied about Wmd's "

The libs in congress during the clinton administration lied also, clinton inclusive. You always leave that part out. You never mention how democrats said Saddam has and/or is developing wmd, right up to the 2003 invasion. This is your dishonesty in debate im refering to.

Another example of your dishonesty. Bush set a pecking order and first on the list was UN violations. His state of the union address proves it. Why you never mention that?

They never invented new reasons to go to war with Iraq. They were already at war with Iraq when they found that the THIRD party intel was somewhat inaccurate. Yet they still found some things like 1.7 tons of 5% enriched yellow cake. Radio active isotopes. Long range missles. Fermenters, Dryers, Binary howitzer shells complete with chemical agents. Why is it you never mention these things. Instead you tought the party line and to the informed you look ridiculous. BTW Saddam had wmd's because the US sold it to him. WE HAVE THE RECEIPTS!!! the title of my lil report i wrote and gave you a copy of john.

What matters now is we have "Boots on the ground intel" and that is what finally nailed OBL and Obama still waited 9 months before oking the hit.

And the democrats that thought Iraq had WMD's were wrong also. The diffrence is that the Clinton administration didn't try to peddle a fantasy on what Iraq was doing with thier WMD's. The Bushies when all else failed try to say that Iraq had a nuke program going when they didn't. (ever hear of Joe Wilson?? Yea that yellow cake deal with Nigeria was true wasn't it?? Not)

I guess the crickets you hear is me ignoring you!!!.

HAHAHAHA!!! Joe Wilson. He had nothing to do with the 1.7 tons of uranium found in Iraq after the invasion and yes Iraq did seek out potential sellers of Uranium many times over including Nigeria, other Lybian channels and Dr Khan had his grubby hands in it also.

Notice how you say those democrats were wrong, but the Bushies were liars. Not very honest assessment.

The crickets im hearing is you being ignorant, couldnt agree more.

That's what you consider aiding and abetting?

John said...

The democrats didn't try to manipulate the info into a deal that Iraq had WMD's of a nuclear variety. They didn't lie but the Bush administration did. The democrats were weak in not trying to get the Bush administration to explain the rational for invading Iraq. They were swept up in the fear that Iraq was gonna give nuke's to OBL and his bunch of terrorist.

The tubes and centrifuges that Iraq had couldn't produce a bomb of any kind. I think you have to have over 1000 centrifuges to create material to get started on a bomb. They had to be maintained and updated with the latest tech.
Also you would have to have a place that had fresh water source and where you could get rid of nuclear materials. Where was those sites in Iraq??.

Please source me where was 1.7 million tons of uranium that was found in Iraq. In my research I never read or heard that info.

Funny now with all the books written by former Bush administration members they seem to backtrack on the WMD's claim.

John said...

Doing some research on the 1.7 million tons of uranium claim by BigDog. I have come to the conclusion he was correct on this.

But.. Was it weapons grade? And it appears it was leftover from the first Gulf War. Saddam had a active program till it was destroyed by coalition forces in the first Gulf War. Saddam had trouble trying to put his nuke's program together because it was in shambles. Yes, he had a Wmd's program that was somewhat limited that dealt with non-nuke's weapons
but the Bush folks try to make the link to the Baath of Iraq and OBL
and AQ as far as a operational links.

This was a poor country with a dictator that wanted to be a player in his region. His country was in shambles and his military wasn't first-rate. We helped him in the past cause he fought Iran and kept the commies from getting a foothold in that region. We gave him weapons in that fight and like all things in the changing geopolitical map he turned on us.
But he had nothing to do with 9/11.

No john, but its enrichment was at 5%. What you need to research more about. The UN had 550 tons of Iraqi Uranium, under the watchfull eye(more like blind eye) of the IAEA after the first Gulf war. The 1.7 tons was not. In fact the UN was very upset with the US removing it, but never denied its existance nor xplained its oversight either.

You said the Bushies manipulated the intellegence. How is it so? if the said intellegence was being taughted by the Clintonistas allthrought the late 1990's. Here are some quotes showing the LDB's from 1998 until 2003, before BOOTS ON THE GROUND INTEL. Did they(LDB's) manipulate intellegence before Bush was sworn in or after?

"back bushies or others as if they had stock on them and their dividends from investments are being threatened" This quote mentions bushies or others I don't care who it is! The culture of corruption, sociopathic behavior that a democratic or republican government displays. Wikileaks painted a clear picture of the war and its dingy little everyday details, bribery, backdoor deals etc. THIS PEOPLE REPRESENT YOU! Like Terence Mckenna said these politicians who sit on top of the hill are a bunch of ignoramuses falling asleep in their soup or something like that. I met a former military contractor on a jobsite, I forgot what he called it but was also a bodyguard for those guys in suits with cases of money for bribes He also said he witnessed an 18 wheeler filled with cash to pay people off. Anyone who has wo brain cells rubbing eachother knows that it is not fair to throw a people into a "democracy" from a despot's grip. They knew that but didn't care there is money to be made.

I did add my accusation of fraud, to his blog. He read it and never posted it. Thats his history. The pic with Pat Boone and a list of people he claims came from the top of his head was a lie. He got it from Bartcop.

"So, there you have it.

and that was just off the top my head."

He edited his post tho and added this. "(Article is a Reprint)"

If said article is a reprint, then how is it off the top of his head??

HUH JOHN???

The quote that you just posted is also part of the reprinted article.

Here is another quote from the article:
"I'm going to make the list PG-rated so it can be reproduced, copied, re-distributed and kicked around by everyone who wants to be fair."

Hope this helps clear things up

Anonymous said...

The truthfairy is lieing. Im so glad you brought this up. One liar backs up another. Circle the LDB wagons, its a laugh.

You see. Anthony took the time to remove and leave out components of his plagiarism, so he could claim it, until i called him on it.

The original quote:

"So, there you have it. The Top Twenty-Five MOST RECENT Republican sex crimes, and that was just off the top my I.Q. of 66 head,"

Further note he removed the comma from the original and added a period. But hey, whos picky.

The Evil Penus change the quote to make it appear he thought of this list himself. He gave no credit to its origin, either.

Why was "I.Q. of 66" left out???

"(Article is a Reprint)"

Later added, after i posted my ass whoopin. No its not a reprint i say it was....ummmm it was edited by him. Now! Where does it say he could edit the article? but i digress. A reprint and a link would suffy yet no link provided for its origin. Thats why i lambasted him for it. It also shows he lacks original thought, someone else created it and he claimed it.

Once again proving my point. Just give those who deserve the credit thier just do and stop pretending you created something you didnt.

Most of the time we all have views based on things we read, view or listen to. We don't have to source it all the time.

As far as Tony not putting BD's posting on his blog. Maybe it isn't the politics of it but of how you say it and your personal issues and attacks on Tony. Last

_______

I've made this PG-13 rated so that it may be easily plagiarized, kicked around, and/or otherwise reproduced.

Let Them Eat Veggies! A non-Interview with First Lady Michelle Obama

This press conference was a spectacular event. They didn't pull out all the stops, red carpets, fanfare, peasants with trumpets, and they let us eat cake. There was not even what must have been a jester that came barging up front screaming about stopping wars and the like. We all got in a good belly laugh when he was flopping around like a fish from the repeated electrocution, the crowd got so much pleasure from his pain. Later, some of the press was not granted an exclusive audience and the opportunity not to ask The Lady Obama a few questions about the new decree. Here are some of the highlights:

Truthfairy said...

Reporter asks: "Some say that the plan can suck them in through good intentions but end up giving them the shaft. Do you really think this is the best way to provide underserved communities with affordable and healthy food?

Lady Obama did not respond: "I didn't say it was the best way. I'm just saying that this is what we're going to do, it's not really open for debate."
___

Reporter asks: "How about funding for gardening in schools, more community gardens, urban agriculture, small farmers, food localization, and organic methods?"

Lady Obama did not respond: "No. We would rather keep people ignorant about their food and create unnecessary jobs, so we're giving funds to big businesses and public agencies so that they can waste people's labor and resources and discourage communities from creating their own wealth."
___

Reporter asks: "It seems like this is focusing on the symptoms and not addressing the actual problems. Isn't that the same type of thing that got us to this point in the first place?"

Lady Obama did not respond: "Yes. But there are a handful of smaller grocers that will get some funding as well with this. The trick is to keep funds away from localized production and discourage self-sufficient communities, that way we still keep control from the top down. The big companies will buy most of those smaller grocers up eventually anyway."
___

Reporter asks: "How can you call funding the production of more genetically modified foods laced with pesticides and encouraging their consumption, healthy?"

Lady Obama did not respond: "It's sort of an inside joke. Listen, these people don't know what they're eating most of the time anyway."
___

Reporter asks: "So to sum this up; Big business gets even more control over farmlands and food production, resources and labor are wasted, the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, but let the ignorant people eat between 11 and 32 percent more veggies?"

Lady Obama did not respond: "That's about right. And thanks to the blind support of the American Public, I think we can keep this scheme going for a very long time to come."

Lord Obama did not join The Lady at the podium.

Lord Obama did not respond: "Oh no. The American People need to take this just like they do at the airports, oh yeah, that's it. This plan is well lubricated with funding and it reaches around to provide jobs for people who can't find anything better."
___

Reporter asks: "What do you say to people who think that the plan is too big and it's just going to get bigger?"

Lord Obama did not respond: "You want those old people to get their social security checks next month don't ya? Don't worry, we'll be gentle, a little bit at a time, you might even like it, try to relax."

Gee I don't know but maybe if we are given information on picking the right foods, encouraging exercise, not cutting gym programs at schools, eating in moderation then maybe we wouldn't have a health crisis and health cost might go down.

Sorting through the past week with
the events that was pulled in D.C. I must ask a question. Where are the jobs?. Since Obama exstended the Bush tax cuts which supposed to generate revenue so the job creators could create. Well where are the jobs?.

I would like to read what a tea-bagger would respond to that question. I'll give ya some time to get your talking points from conservative talk radio.

Anonymous said...

I notice you are assigning blame to the Bush admin. When in fact your own president doesnt know his own birthday nor his own age (Audio On Bens show). Who cares though.

The reason for a lack of job creation has to do with or is more about globalization; as new international markets paid off for American companies throughout the first decade of 2000's, has now come to roost upon the obama admin.

This administration has promised shovel ready jobs with its stimulus packages, wich has yet to happen. Obama himself has never said that by extending the Bush tax cuts, it would create jobs. Yet somehow you find a way to spin something and then name call. Might i remind you about your constant badgering about name calling.

The extension of Bush tax cuts kept the Obamma admin from really fucking this countries private sector further. This isnt about Bush tax cuts its all about the failure of Obamas shovel ready jobs...etc.

LDB Slayer!!

John said...

I assign blame on Bush because he
pushed his Bushtax cuts which wrecked the United States economy and got us in debt. (Dammed Right)

I blame President Obama for exstending the Bush tax cuts which has hurt the economy. He should have ended it when it expired or better yet killed it off somehow the moment he set foot in the oval office.

Get your talking points straight BD. Your side claims if we give tax cuts to the upper 4 to 5% it will create surpluses and put money in to create jobs. (It hasn't happend!)

The stimulus wasn't big enough and I might add that where it has been applied to job creation it has worked. Attacking the roads, bridges and infrastucture in this country that is crumbling and dealing with a old electric grid which needs to be updated would create jobs and create other jobs from that which would help the US economy.

Your really clueless if you think that President Obama is trying to destroy the private sector.(talking point from conservative talk radio,Fox news) Get some new material because your not informed and your are just moronic.

Yea I called you a name because I'm tired of dealing with tea-bagging morons like you.

We are talking about jobs. With unemployment around 10% under Obama and 4.5% during Bush. Id say i would like to have Bush back for employments sake.

When talking points are accurately describing our countries situation and how this President is FAILING, i dont need to change them.

" Attacking the roads, bridges and infrastucture in this country that is crumbling and dealing with a old electric grid which needs to be updated would create jobs and create other jobs from that which would help the US economy."

OH??? So where are all these SHOVEL ready jobs?? Remembering Obamas promise for shovel ready jobs....Pfffffft!!

The proof is in the pudding your President is failing. Obamacrats are now riduculing Obama for his failed presidency.

Democrats voted for the extension, leading economists said extending the Bush cuts wouldnt create jobs. You are indeed the most ignorant LDB ive encountered.

However giving you the benefit of the doubt. Please source this.

"Get your talking points straight BD.

BTW im not a tea party member, but i find it funny how pissed you and your leftist Obamacrats are. Is it because thier first black president is failing and inlay the real fear?

LDB got bitch slapped AGAIN!!

John said...

Bush's unemployent rate was at 7.8
to 8.5% when he left office. Maybe it was at 4.5% but well it doubled
under him.

I have issue's with how Obama has done his job. When you deal in a open authority kind of thinking then I must be critical of him for things he's failed to do. But I will take him over Bush in a New York minute any day!!!.

Obama being black has nothing to do with it so why you bring it up?.
That's your issue that you really need to work out.

The stimulus wasn't big enough and it didn't attack real problems with infrastructure and the electricla grid. If Republicans had a clue they would understand that pumping money into work projects like green jobs, light rail, high speed transit would create jobs, industry and boost the economy. It happend before with the WPA. Ever hear of Hoover Dam,The TVA with FDR and the New Deal. This created industry that boost the economies of western states and in the south. It created jobs, started real small business.

Also the last time I checked Barack Obama is the elected President of the United States. He's your President to. I respect the office even though I might have disagreed with the last occupant of the office.

Gee BD you talk about anger but it seems the really angry people are the tea-baggers. I'm not mad I'm just sad that the Republican Party has been taken over by a bunch of racist morons that don't have a clue what they are talking about.

BYE!!!!

Anonymous said...

So!!! where are all these shovel ready jobs??

John said...

Well a lot of proposed so-called
shovel ready jobs don't have funding. Some of the issue's is redtape and a lot of political shenanigans by both parties.

There are construction jobs that deal with education, road, nature parks that are proposed ready to go
that nothing is happening. Who's to blame?? Well President Obama for not fighting and explaining to the american people the need to boost the economy with public works projects which will create jobs... The Republican's because they are beholding to the tea-baggers, corporate clowns like the Koch Brothers, Grover Norquist and
his anti-tax pledge crap.

Anonymous said...

So how is it you say not enough funding when YOUR president and YOUR side allocated only 1/3 of the total stimulus to said shovel ready jobs.

Where did the other 2/3 of 700+ billion go JOHN!?!?!?!?!?...slush funds??????

Oh and please provide a source!

Oh and here is the real kicker. You want to heap more debt upon MY grandchildren. Fuck you Liberal.

LDB last nail in coffin.

John said...

Where is your evidence that stimulus money is in a slush fund?.

Fuck You Liberal?. Really great comeback but this is you that I'm dealing with so I don't expect you to deal with me as a adult.

If you care about your grandkids like you say then I might suggest
that you teach them to respect people of all backgrounds even those who may have diffrent political beliefs. But again this is you that I'm dealing with so
I fear for thier intelect, reasoning abilites and just overall well being as productive future adults.

Gee BD, Its funny but you notice that a lot of republican govs of states seem to have some budget surpluses and well claims of job creation that I don't know might have come from the stimulus money from the Obama administration?.

Yep keep it comming with all the talking points you get from conservative talk radio,Fox News talk about a useful idiot.

Somehow makes it easier to lie and manipulate this debate about shovel ready jobs?? HAHAHAH!!! only shows who the real child is and who cant be an Adult.

BTW your implications towards me only proves my point about liberals. YOu dont give two shits about my grandchildren. YOU want more stimulus....MORE debt shouldered by those living beyond our remaining years. NICE!!! hence the FUCK YOU!!! because that involves many a grandchildren...DUH!

I'll say it in your face, if need be, but dont ever come across as someone who cares about my grandchildrens well being or even muscle an opinion.Get it.Got it.Good!

From scanning over that report, it looks to me like it would be a lot cheaper to just put 6 million people on welfare than to "create" jobs for them. All they would have to do is wait for those 6 million new welfare recipients to hate their poverty and start committing crimes to get by. Instead of putting them in jail for crimes of poverty, make them do community service work. Then they could still fix the roads and whatnot with impoverished slave labor. Much cheaper ;)

Money isnt always needed for government to help create jobs. Lifting drilling regulations in the gulf both deep and shallow drilling would impact close to 40,000 + jobs created. The moratorium killed alot of the drilling momentum and jobs.

Government getting out of the way of the private sector would be a HUGE step in the right direction.

Anonymous said...

Sounds good, except that the oil companies have proven over the last few years that they can't even handle the drilling responsibilities they already have. Remember, government protects us from the corporations and even vice-versa sometimes.

I thought I answered your question on where the stimulus money is at but well I guess it didn't sink in to well. Also I might add that some of the money has been allocated for future spending and tax credits for small business from the time that the stimulus was passed. That's according to the CBO.

But it's funny you made a comment that Obama has a slush fund where the stimulus money is at that you claimed is missing?. (Source that for me please because that is a wild claim you made about the Obama administration).

The CBO is "Congessional Budget Office" a non partisan group.

Two questions BD won't answer.

1) What slush fund is he talking about in regards to missing stimulus money?.

2) Where are the jobs that republicans claimed they created?
Have they submited legislation for job's creation?

If you read Micheal Grabell's piece in ProPublica which I don't think you did, he covered the fact that the stimulus wasn't just about job creation but about tax breaks to help small business. Also he gave a detailed accounting of projects that are close to completion or have been completed. (Also dealing in a open authority he listed reports from Tom Colburn that was critical of stimulus.)

Now ProPublica is a investigative journalism website that is well respected. IT's NOT A CONSERVATIVE BLOG THAT IS TIED TO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY NOR THE KOCH BROTHERS!!!!!.

I'll use MFS,a blogger post opening line: "Are you sure this article wasn’t vetted (it certainly was not edited for balance, fairness, completeness and accuracy) with the White House or Axelrod/Plouffe?"

Does the author have a clue about a Red Herring and what it means? is? The way he tried to use it didnt make much sense. Maybe you could explain it for me. I doubt it tho. It is not as detailed as you say it is. The article is a RED HERRING in that it diverts the attention away from my original question Fact #1 above and hurts your war against dumb people.

Anonymous said...

I believe it is estimated that it takes an average of 32,000 dollars to hire someone in the private sector and thats a skilled job. The higher the skill level then the obvious would apply and that estimate would be much higher.

I heard and havent verified a report by the NYT that millions of stimulus went into teachers pensions funds instead of hiring teachers.

John is the type of person that puts down all media outlets and deems them not credible if slanted to the right. So when i ask for his sources its for comparison and analysis. He has yet to provide me with anything tangible. TF i almost get the sense you are beginning to wonder the same thing im wondering.

WHERE ARE ALL THESE SHOVEL READY JOBS?!!!!

For all then extra DEBT heaped upon our future children...etc Wheres the jobs man? as promised by this president?

TF said...

I think that the stimulus money is intended for trickle down through redundant government agencies and fat corporate wallets and relatively few jobs will slowly drip out. The megacorps are already setup to rake in most of our dough and government is set up to grow larger. Whatever the intentions, It serves to funnel more power away from the common people. Basically this stimulus is just a concentrated influx of money from the bottom in the future to the top in the present.

"I heard and havent verified a report by the NYT that millions of stimulus went into teachers pensions funds instead of hiring teachers."
That sounds like black propaganda meant for tea partiers, surprising if it is from the nytimes.
I really wish they'd get off the teachers, it's just not smart.

Here's one for the Tea People... How about businesses that outsource jobs that could be done in the US get no tax breaks of any kind for any reason? And businesses that import more than, say 20% of their goods, screw them too. Could semi-micro loan the extra tax revenue to small localized production business startups and call it 'The Real Economic Recovery Act'.

Anonymous said...

OK. I attempted to get the article from the NYT's and i am not a paying member. Therefore it appears i wont be able to show its directly from the NYT's. I googled stimulus money goes into teachers pension and i got some decent results and a few pointed to the NYT article. I read many articles that the stimulus did indeed go into teachers pension funds and i also read that money will be running out or they had to use it by sept 12. So it appears the money they didnt use did go into teacher pension funds. Did it shore up depleted funds like all the articles point too. My point is if its being saved for future use then that is considered to be a slush fund. If it is being used to make pension funds more viable then the president should have made it clear that saving jobs and shoring up pensions and not shovel ready jobs is the purpose of the stimulus. I also saw a chart showing over 400,000 teacher jobs were saved and it appears that this time next year serious cuts will have to be made.

Then today i hear KC school districts lost creditation?

Anonymous said...

I've read that the money is being saved for later in many cases and that the practice IS specifically allowed by the bill, but I have yet to find reliable info about stimulus money going into teachers pensions.

OK. TF lets do some math.
400,000+ teachers jobs were saved by stimulus of 09'. Some reports say that gives them 3 years so somewhere in 2012 thier jobs may be cut. The math is this.

44 billion went to DOE. If each teacher whos job was saved contributes an average of 5% of salary(average 40,000) to teachers pension fund. How much stimulus money went into these pension funds? You said the bill allowed for saving for later date....ie slush fund. I mean call me crazy but it appears some of the stimulus went to shore up teachers pension fund. The amount to consider is 40,000 x5%= $2,000

2000$x 400,000= 800,000,000 x 3 years 2.4 billion. Per usual these are conservative figures and in my mind without question the stimilus money found its way into the teachers pension fund. Now how much of that stimulus will find its way into the DNC to help around election time???

Talk about conditioning... right here at home even... wow...

TF said...

Anon,

Okay, you're talking about what teachers spend their own personal money on now. If you wanna go there with the math then most of the other 95% of their money is funneled up to big corporate interests through their regular purchases. Also, there is no shortage of crooked politicians and crooked heads of government agencies that will hook their rich buddies up with no-bid contracts and so forth too. And if it's allowed by the bill then it's technically not a slush fund but whatever.
You're really worried about them giving their personal money that they earned to the DNC? Now tell me this, if you were a teacher and a huge swath of one of the only two political parties that you can see, openly wanted to take your job and your pension away, wouldn't you support 'the other' party?

I mean really, isn't there a whole lot of more effective ways to cut spending than to keep targeting education? Don't we need good educators now more than ever? Can we really afford to cut education is this nation at all, as ignorant as americans are compared to other nation's people? How about those damn spy cameras everywhere, maybe they could cut those instead of installing more? How about we stop blowing up so much shit overseas? Or spend less money pointlessly dehumanizing our people at the airports? How about we slow down on spending for trying to compete in some sort of global economy until we can get our own economy straight? How about taxing imported goods and lowering taxes on domestic goods?
How about helping to secure fair elections by going back to paper ballots before we do anything else? And how the hell can people just trust those damn machines to be fair and accurate? I mean politics is openly crooked as 'both sides' will say about the other and computers screw stuff up all the time but we're just supposed to trust the voting machines to be secure and accurate and their programmers and/or hackers to be honest?

You can thank the polarized Tea Party for those polarized teachers who now support the polarized DNC more than ever. And we can thank those ronpaul2008ers who claimed to be truthers yet kept saying not to push conspiracy and false right-left paradigm stuff until "later" for the ignorance, magnitude, and extreme polarization of the Tea Party.

In a nutshell, I suppose my point is this: When people blindly follow some cult of personality or another, then they tend to see only through the lens of some hierarchial structure, they generally don't even try to see things from another viewpoint or use their own discernment.

The less-polarized people tend to grow their knowledge faster and more accurately than the highly-polarized folks. That's because the highly polarized tend to block-out/ignore/refuse to accept information they don't like and/or hide that which might damage their cult hierachy if made common knowledge.

A trick to seeing through the current pop political structures is to think of it like 3D-glasses. Look only through the red lens and see one picture with some extra lines added in, look only through the blue lens and see a similar picture with different extra lines added in, but look through both lenses at the same time and see this whole other thing going on. It's just a choice really, to rise, or flow, or stagnate

WOW!!! fucking liberals deny/ignore certian truths. Taxpayers moneys were used to save 400,000+ jobs for teachers is their personal money they earned? I guess you lack the understanding when the very genesis of that money was the stimulus. This money was taxpayers money and not money generated in the private sector. Besides if it was earned then why was their job on the way out? Was the layoff earned as well?? Stimulus money saved teachers jobs and 2.4 billion went into teachers pension because of the stimulus. PERIOD!!! Thats the true bottom line.

"2.4 billion went into teachers pension because of the stimulus"

I already explained it. The sources are repleat once you gain an understanding how it works. Im trying to educate you on how it works and you want a direct quote from whom???

http://biggovernment.com/vderugy/2010/03/10/who-is-the-stimulus-money-stimulating-teachers/

Follow the math dood. I demonstrated how tax payers moneys went into teachers pension.

Without the stimulus no teachers jobs would have been saved? correct?

Without the teachers jobs being saved there would be no 2.4 billion going into teachers pension and if it was for 2 years then that total would change to 1.6 billion.

Are you really that ignorant of how this all works?

Anonymous said...

At some point and time you will begin to think for yourself and not always need someone else for your opinion. Get educated TF and take heed to those that are elder and wiser.

Enough said!

TF said...

Seems like you are just trolling but I'll respond anyway, bcuz.

Now you follow the math "dood".

Those 400000+ teachers that you speak of that make 40k/year would be taxed at least 20% just for federal.
source: http://www.fairmark.com/begin/bracket.htm

40,000 x 20% = 8,000
$8,000 x 400,000 = 3.2 billion x 3 years = $9.6 billion

Without the stimulus no teachers jobs would have been saved? correct?

Without the teachers jobs being saved there would be no $9.6 billion in additional tax revenue according to your numbers.

From your source: "In 2009, for the first time ever, more public-sector employees (7.9 million) belonged to a union than did private-sector employees (7.4 million) despite there being five times more wage and salary workers in the private sector."
So instead of trying to address the problem of not enough union workers in the private sector, they want to take public unions down too. A misery-loves-company move for sure. That seems to be the "conservative" attitude these days. Yeah i listen to your shepherds a couple times a week on the radio when i can stand it.

Breitbart is a twisty mofo like you:

Big business/corporate welfare got way more money than teachers pensions (old news):
http://money.cnn.com/2009/06/09/news/companies/corporate_stimulus/index.htm

"WOW!!! fucking liberals deny/ignore certain truths."
Of course they do.

"Taxpayers moneys were used to save 400,000+ jobs for teachers is their personal money they earned? I guess you lack the understanding when the very genesis of that money was the stimulus."
Fortunately, slavery was outlawed a while back. People generally get paid for their labor right now, even teachers. Unless you get your way, then we'd all be slaves i suppose.

"This money was taxpayers money and not money generated in the private sector."
Taxpayers money is generated by computers in the private sector, but i wouldn't expect you to know that.

"Besides if it was earned then why was their job on the way out?"
Because the economy sucks right now, that's why. Megacorps control most of the money.

"Was the layoff earned as well??"
Of course not.

Stimulus money saved teachers jobs and taxpayers get $9.6 billion in additional tax revenue from teachers because of the stimulus. PERIOD!!! Thats the true bottom line.(sort of)

"At some point and time you will begin to think for yourself and not always need someone else for your opinion. Get educated TF and take heed to those that are elder and wiser."
My opinions are actually pretty firm. I challenge you to turn off your sheeple media for a few months and try to argue this same shit. Elder doesn't always mean wiser obviously.

Anonymous said...

Ummmmmm first off, the math used was a breakdown of KNOWN FACTS!!! not sheeple media. LDB's always fall back on accusations. I mean its not the facts that matter its the seriousness of the charge.

However excellent point about tax revenues but that wasnt the point of discussion.

Once again you resort to obfuscations wich are meant to detract from the real issue. So much for a serious discussion when you want to divert from the topic. Stimulus money was used to shore up union pension funds and it seems you cant refute it. Now you are agreeing with me and did some math of your own. Excellent job by you.

Thank you have a nice day.

tf said...

Stimulus money went to save teacher's jobs among many other things. If they do their jobs then they get paid for it. What they then do with that money that they earn is their personal choice. So no, according to information that you have provided, stimulus money did not go straight into teacher's pensions and you are full of it as usual.

Hope you have a great day though.

Anonymous said...

I did not say the stimulus went straight into pension funds i demonstrated by means of teachers mandatory contribution of stimulus money that was used to save their jobs did in fact make is way into the pension fund.

Teachers do not have a choice in contributing to the pension fund. That is set up as thier UNION DUES!!! per state and a portion of those dues goes into pension funds. You seemingly lack the understanding. Instead you contort some cockamamie, half truth in order to somehow magically make the facts go away. Then sir it is you that is full of it.

Oh and get this retired teachers still pay manditory union dues just FYI. Oh and get this the NEA deserves your scrutiny and how the NEA funnels moneys to the democrats.

Sorry TF but i grow weary of your ignorance.

Pardon the interruption said...

If I follow you fellows' logic, then didn't a few more dollars end up in healthcare insurance pockets. I mean mist of those teachers are likely to pay something like 300+ bucks into insurance for a family.

By the by: using tax dollars to create a job and then counting the tax revenue from said job seems like a double sip.

TF said...

Pardon,

The pensions vs lack of social security benefits would be a double sip of sorts too i suppose. How teachers spend their salaries really has jackzero to do with his alleged 'stimulus slush funds' or 'shoring up teachers pensions' or 'Obama misleading people. This is Bigdog's 'logic' game we're in right here. He makes all sorts of accusations, then gives no sources to back up his original teacher's slush fund claims(seems he couldn't actually find any), so he twists it into [the money]"did in fact make its way into the pension fund", then tries to pretend that I'm ignorant or don't think for myself because I verify while he simply trusts his hierarchy. He seems to think that if he admits he was wrong then he loses his little game so he goes on the offensive and tries to turn tables. It's his standard 'house of mirrors' weak game.

The thing to do in his sociopolitical group is to rag on teachers right now, so he does, setting aside other ideas about cutting spending in favor of the trend and having an enemy to try and tear down. When educators are considered the enemy, that just seems like embracing ignorance to me. A lot of CBPs(Conservative Butt Plugs) like him see half of this 'nation'(LDBs or Liberal Douche Bags) as their enemies. It's this fear-state that makes them so easy for the hierarchy to manipulate. Putting cult before conscience stunts growth.

Bigdog,

"Teachers do not have a choice in contributing to the pension fund."
Just like we don't really have a choice about contributing to the social security fund.

"That is set up as thier UNION DUES!!! per state and a portion of those dues goes into pension funds."
I think that most of them seem to be cool with that.

"You seemingly lack the understanding."
What i lack is much of the brainwash that you are covered in.

Oh and get this retired teachers still pay manditory union dues just FYI."
And i'm sure they still get union benefits as well.

"Instead you contort some cockamamie, half truth in order to somehow magically make the facts go away."
No, that's what you did. Proof puddin:
"I did not say the stimulus went straight into pension funds i demonstrated by means of teachers mandatory contribution of stimulus money that was used to save their jobs did in fact make is way into the pension fund."
You most certainly did: "So it appears the money they didnt use did go into teacher pension funds. Did it shore up depleted funds like all the articles point too. My point is if its being saved for future use then that is considered to be a slush fund. If it is being used to make pension funds more viable then the president should have made it clear that saving jobs and shoring up pensions and not shovel ready jobs is the purpose of the stimulus."
So can you prove or even source that unused stimulus money was used for "shoring up pensions" and "make pension funds more viable" and that the president was unclear about the stimulus's actual purpose? Or since that line of shit about slush funds didn't work out for ya, you just went with some indirect bullshit about where teacher's salaries go, right? What does teachers continuing to put money into their pensions even have to do with stimulus? Like, we're gonna save and create their jobs but they won't be allowed to pay in to their pensions anymore. Like you want to steal their pensions because stimulus saved their jobs, you have to realize how rediculus that sounds. And how does the fact that a good number of those teachers don't get any social security benefits because of those pensions factor in to your backpedal of mathematical cockamamie?

Bailing out the auto companies and extending the bush tax cuts were the biggest expenditures of stimulus, not teacher jobs anyway. Do you want to go after the auto workers pensions too since big auto got stimulus? But not the executive pensions right? What about the interest those rich people are making off of the money they saved thanks to extending their tax cuts deal, you're not too worried about what happens to that money are ya? Get real.
And the repo nuts you swing on generally only look after people who make five or ten or twenty times what most people make. And those cats seem to believe that they actually deserve five or ten or twenty times as much as someone who invested more in education or works twice as hard as they do or whatever and they dare to bitch about entitlement. Its all lame.

"Oh and get this the NEA deserves your scrutiny and how the NEA funnels moneys to the democrats."
When the repos want to take away their unions and pensions and the dems want to help them hold on to what they've got then of course they would tend to lean towards dems in a two party system.

Now stop playin that shit and we cool. Alright, now can we move on to other ways of cutting spending brah?

My answer to your question is: Probably yes, but i don't care either way. Have you ever seen people working on roads before? Don't ya see most of them just standing around or leaning on shovels while a few of them work? Think just about that waste throughout the whole KDOT or MODOT, then multiply that same wasted money ratio by almost every state agency in every single state, then try to say that helping to make sure school teachers have 20-30k/year to survive on when they retire is a waste! It doesn't even compare to the amount of stimulus that actually is being wasted elsewheres. This issue probably started as like, some group of rich and powerful manipulator's sick joke. When this issue first got big during the wisconsin teacher's union thing, the angry mob didn't care that the teachers had agreed to a pay cut, they were told to try and break the whole unions down so they did as they were told.

Whatever, and; Yeah all kinds of shit, I suppose you know every single line item though, oh wait, the only ones you care about have to do with public pensions. Shoring up state budgets was part of the economic recovery plan, there were no slushfunds, and teachers are among the least of problems in regards to spending.

Bored.

In regards to your mathletics, to quote you:"Instead you contort some cockamamie, half truth in order to somehow magically make the facts go away."

"No sources huh?? I was hoping you would discover things on your own. More believable that way but there you are twisting everything around. I know, beyond any doubt, im right and you sir are wrong."
You didn't put up sources when i asked before, you tried to go all creative numbery instead. I didn't twist anything and i can't figure out what you are trying to say that i'm wrong about.

From your source: "Contrary to widely reported tales of outrageous pension abuse, the average annual pension collected by U.S. public servants is around $20,000, according to the CBPP and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)." - "According to Abraham, the average public school teacher earns $50,000 and retires on an annual pension of around $29,000. Roughly two-thirds of that comes from teacher contributions and investment returns, with the rest coming from tax dollars, he estimated." - "Only one-fourth of the money used to fund most civil service pension funds, including firefighters and police, comes from taxpayers; the rest come from employee contributions and investment returns."

That last article. It seems like they just tried to do the same thing that federal and state governments do for the megacorps quite often by bailing them out. Separate from the stimulus as it would have been, so why is that so bad? Besides the obvious inflaming bias of the article its not much different.

He was going to cut existing funding to education and that bit of stimulus money was supposed to be used to prevent cuts and that's exactly what it seems to have done here.---> http://ww2.gazette.net/stories/02202009/polinew134400

I think I have more control in my life than I could anything else. I dont vote anymore, I stopped paying my credit cards and I am considering defaulting on my house so I can buy it back with cash later for pennies on the dollar. I am trying to do what the banks do to me in reverse. A fella wrote an article entitled "Are jobs obsolete?" where he makes the point why work? technology has stripped us from most jobs by replacing us and making us obsolete. Give the people basic rights like food and shelter.

TF said...

Nice. I vote for third parties, I know its similar to the ignorance of just picking an R or D but it is actually a little different right now. You might try building up your credit, creatively not paying interest, borrowing a bunch of money, and then declaring bankruptcy.(speaking from experience, 50k+ just in credit cards debt wiped out years ago)

I like the basic rights idea but food and shelter can not be considered rights or there would be little difference between us and captive animals. If we could just stop denying each other our inherent rights to the land we'd be a lot free-er and wealthier.

TF said...

Well you have a point on captive animals but what are we now? I remember my history teacher talking about the shift of power from the land owners to the money holders, that last post seems like a desire to go back to an agrarian society. Not with iphones around.

Just a classroom conversation. Don't recall exactly the context but more about how large landowners had much political sway and when maybe society became urbanized then people with the money gained this political sway. He even went as far to say that jewish hoarded money and would lend at high interest rates which most resented for profitting from misfortunes.
