I am a white guy who lived in a black neighborhood and I remember seeing unfamiliar white guys roaming around a few times and I sorta thought the same thing, like "what's he doing here?"

I live in a predominate black neighborhood and we have white and mexicans as neighbors. The kids play together and everyone get's along very well.

I guess it depends on where you live and how you see people for who they are and not what group they belong to.

With the Supreme Court's ruling on healthcare and how it didn't go the way it was supposed to go for the rightwing. I'm wondering about this anger that is directed at John Roberts.

From what I'm hearing and seeing from the conservative media well the CJ is considered a traitor and need to be run out of town. I'm hearing some people questioning Roberts sanity and the fact that he has had a history of seizures.

I don't know but could it be he looked at the law and found nothing unconstitutional about it and ruled on it based on the law and not his political ID.?

There aren't anymore all white areas. They have all been invaded.

OK since i have some concerns in this area of; attacks on the private sector. I have no problems with safety. Its all about overreach of the feds into any private sector based businesses. The video below is well done and up to date. It better articulates the current CSA. About the 13 minute mark it mentions the lawsuit. For now begin here for a better understanding and give me your perspective.

CSA official website.

NASSTRAC Position:

"NASSTRAC, an industry association that represents the interests of freight shippers in all modes of transportation, filed comments with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) in response to the agency's draft of its 2011-2016 strategic plan. NASSTRAC filed jointly with the Health & Personal Care Logistics Conference, which represents manufacturers, shippers and receivers of pharmaceuticals and health and personal care products. The basis of the filing is that both associations have significant concerns over FMCSA's potential regulation, and ultimately an overreach, into the operations of shippers in the proposed plan."

NASSTRAC strongly oppose plans by FMCSA to seek authority from Congress to regulate shippers, receivers, brokers and freight forwarders.

According to NASSTRAC's filing with the FMCSA, the agency's draft strategic plan proposes such an expansion through its goal of "focusing outreach, oversight, and enforcement resources on the entire CMV transportation life-cycle." NASSTRAC emphasizes that FMCSA identifies "all the entities that control or influence the operation of CMVs, including all parties involved in the transport and logistics supply chain" as potential targets of FMCSA regulation.

This article from academia university of Memphis did a study. Its long but ill try and sum it up.

http://www.memphis.edu/ifti/pdfs/cifts_labor_impacts_of_csa.pdf

It pointed out that in the 1980's the trucking industry was deregulated and it appears it stemmed from a battle of unionized transport companies and independent truckers wanted a piece of the pie. The newly formed FMCSA whats to regulate and control industry.

Not sure i agree with their conclusion(below quote) but i have considered it.

"Did changes in trucking employment in relation to percentage
changes in freight tonnage reflect those predictions?
Throughout the year the trucking industry labor market increased routinely, even with
nearly half the year seeing decreases in freight tonnage. The trend over the year, suggested that
even with the implementation of CSA, the labor market in trucking continued to grow—industry
predictions to the contrary. This suggested that the implementation of CSA did not have the
industry-predicted negative impact on hiring in trucking, although it could be argued that without
CSA the industry might have experienced even higher payrolls."

Concerns from the large flatbed industry.

http://bulktransporter.com/regulations/transportation_csa_2/

Now. In 2004, under Bush, the Gov started the CSA under the goal of “The goal of CSA is to implement more effective and efficient ways for FMCSA, its state partners, and the trucking industry to reduce commercial motor vehicle (CMV) crashes, fatalities, and injuries.”

The now stated Goal under Obama “Reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities involving CMV transportation through education, innovation, regulation, enforcement, financial assistance, partnerships, and full accountability.”

Notice the differences and the stated complete overreach of an industry already under steady growth without all the new regulations under CSA. "They have existed in the regulations, but weren't a part of CSA. CSA has never been about all violations."

Hmmmmm...more governmental control that has ZERO to do with the original intent of the CSA.

OOID Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association concerns and unfair practices of the CSA.

The industry is not liking the new CSA under Obama and its digression from the original implementation.

You can go deeper into the this but i am done and i hope you consider my perspective and how it is my concerns are legit.

Socialism defined: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.

I don't care for the Nordic model or any form of socialism involving the federal governments overreach into the private sector nor the evolution of socialist theories in our government.

BTW MTJ i'm not a Statist neither. I recognize that state government can be a strong buffer zone for the locals to truly get a sense of representation on the hill and stop the overreach of the federal government.

Socialism defined: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.

Fascism defined: a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

Government mandates for health care...socialism or fascism?

Government buys controlling interest in GM and others in the auto industry (except for FORD)...socialism or fascism?

Now the overreach into the transportation industry...socialism or fascism?

On July 16, 2012, ASECTT (the Alliance for Safe, Efficient and Competitive Truck Transportation), four other trade associations and twelve named plaintiffs sued the FMCSA over its May 16th publication of “New Resources Available for Shippers, Brokers, and Insurers” on its website. This guidance makes clear that the FMCSA does not intend to perform its job under existing statute of determining which carriers are fit to operate on the highways and shutting down the rest. Through the publication of CSA/SMS data and this guidance, the FMCSA is harming safe small carriers who are not inspected often enough to generate a reliable score; large safe carriers who happen to operate in the five states that generate 46 percent of all speeding tickets or warnings; and shippers and brokers who are targeted by lawyers for negligent hiring and vicarious liability lawsuits despite contracting with carriers that have been authorized by the DOT to operate in interstate commerce.

Funny how all these regulations seemingly have and are currently restricting marketplace competition and these mandates are literally costing smaller companies and independents money and jobs. FMCSA overreach is killing industries smaller players. I defer to the industry and what is going on within. This system is unfair and can easily target competition of larger trucking companies. Oh and did i mention the costs are skyrocketing and anyone who understands business these costs are passed onto consumers and in some case costs jobs/contracts.

After my conversation with MTJ last night he could care less. This guy refuses to see Obama and congress overreach into a socialistic agenda against the transport industry. But i digress.

The amount of disrespect and claytons power play against emoni shows how ignorant and blind KKFI has become. Funny how a few people will cost KKFI thousands of dollars in donations and listeners.

While this verse, when taken in its context, is seen to be consistent with Jesus words and actions recorded elsewhere in the gospel accounts, His prohibition regarding the manner of a words usage should not be overlooked in the apologists effort to defend biblical inerrancy. We may call an atheist a fool for not acknowledging Gods existence (Psalm 14:1), but to do so in a hateful, malicious manner is sinful. Remember, the Christian is called to give a defense to everyone in a spirit of meekness and fear (1 Peter 3:15).

Socialism according to Marx:
“The less you are and the less you express your life, the more you have and the greater is your alienated life. Everything the economies take from you in the way of life and humanity, it restores to you in the form of money and wealth."
Marx is concerned with the way we feel in a capitalist society. Liberty is an expression of Marxist thought.
Liberty= way of life= being
Capital= things= having
Which is greater? Ask yourself that question.

Oz. I don't agree with Marxism. Thanks for your post but the institutional of Marxism has been a failure. Also Marxism would find it hard to survive as a sole governing ideology amongst a global economy.

Truth be told i don't mind unions fighting for better wages and working conditions but thats as far as i'm willing to see any form of Marxism in our economy. Even though i have had second thought lately concerning Obamas use of the unions, but i digress.

Yes, but is the capital institution any better? Or has it been applied as close to its ideal model? I think Marxism has suffered equally. Marxism to me is more metaphysical that economy based thought it leads to that. Thanks.

Did China implement Capitalism into their economy?

when? if so.

I dare to say that they practice capitalistic values in a geopolitical way. For example china is investing heavily in Africa at the moment. So yes you are right that marxism doesnt apply well in a global economy. I do plead ignorance on this front. I am most concerned about our place in the economy model. Are we currency? A commodity?

Absolutely. Either he is thinking about his and others' race, or thinking others are thinking it (when, contrary to some people's beliefs, this isn't always on people's minds), so by that very fact, the crux of the thought is in itself racist. If race is even the issue, doesn't that make the person asking it the racist?

Interesting comments above. As a white conservative, why is it bad that I'm against Obamacare, when it's not FREE healthcare, since someone has to pay for it, and all it does for those of us not flying under the radar is institute mandatory things. Speaking as someone who (when I was military) lived under socialized medicine, it's only good for those who are never going to pay the bills, anyway. The service goes downhill when people who don't have to worry about getting fired (it, government workers) are in charge of your service (apologies to Russ, if he's still around). Do Liberals not get that SOMEBODY has to pay the bill? And it's not the richie rich. It's middle class that is getting eeked out into poverty because middle class can't afford the loopholes and charity and lawyers. Cheney isn't paying your medical bill, folks. It's the guy who lives in a 700sqfoot house who is about to have to sell it or have it reposessed and then he'll be standing in line behind you to get his "free" flu shot.

Welcome to change, America.

I've missed our debates, Mike.

Hope all is going well on your end. I'm now on the Missouri side, divorced and remarried. Little Man is about to graduate high school and follow in his parents' footsteps and enlist in the military. Would love to hear from you sometime.

Phone number has changed, but am still at my LJ. Email me please :)
