goooood morning vietnam

adrian cronauer of Good Morning Vietnam fame is the head of an organization called Citizen Flag Alliance. They are fighting for a flag burning amendment. I just saw him arguing that the only reason one would burn a flag is to incite anger. but I think it's an expression of anger.

Burning a flag is an especially hard piece of free speech but if america is free then you got a take it. Even if it means that an american citizen actually hates america. people are free to hate their parents why not their country.

Honestly, who, in their right mind thinks that if a human purchases something, they dont have the right to do what they wish with it, as long as they arent denying another individual of their rights?

Next thing you know, they will outlaw burning crosses...err...nevermind...

seriously though, political statement to entice anger or not, isnt it our right to free speech? (assuming you arent bipolar and say the word "bomb" in an aviation setting)

People take symbols too personal, and do not take into account that the same symbols may mean something different to others, which is what I tried to tell Michael T. when we were having the discussion on the confederate flag. Just cause someone hangs a flag doesnt mean that as they are purchasing it, driving home, and screaming "ILL SHOW THOSE DARNED DURTY NEGROS!!"

If I wanted to destroy something that is a personal symbol to me, such as a flag that represents to me, a crooked government, that I purchased, what is it to you, its not like I'm the one kiling 2000 american troops.

Live and let live.
