President Bush and Israel's leaders have demanded that a new peacekeeping force, possibly drawn from outside the United Nations, must be created with the firepower and authority to disarm Hezbollah and help the Beirut government keep the peace in southern Lebanon.
But the prospect of engaging Hezbollah comes with its own hazards. Hezbollah's military wing is not a ragtag militia, easily contained or crushed. Born in the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982 as an unruly armed band, the group evolved into a disciplined military force that drove Israel's army out of the country in May 2000.
Hezbollah is also operating in its power base. Its military wing is drawn from young men from the same southern Lebanon villages that Israel is currently bombarding. Its vast social welfare network in the impoverished, underdeveloped region strengthens its local support base.

Point 1: Hezbollah fired at Israeli civilians...not just fired into Israel. Israel responded by trying to kill the Hezbollah terrorists who fired rockets at innocents.
Point 2: The "conflict" didn't start on July 12; the "conflict" has existed since the re-establishment of Israel.
Point 3: The problem isn't that the UNIFIL only has self-defense weapons; it is because they are in the middle of a war zone.

So...the minimum wage. The conservative says, "why raise it?" The lib says, "why not?" Let's take a look.
Raising the minimum wage raises price making the minimum wage increase null and void. Yes, you earn more money but items now cost more.
Cutting taxes that poor people pay is also a pay raise similar to minimum wage increase; however, in this case, the price decreases and the wage remains the same.
When raising the price, the economy is hurt and tax receipts will be lower. When lowering the price, the economy is helped and tax receipts will, ultimately, be higher (the multiplier).
Therefore, raising the minimum wage is not only a facade to make politicians look good...it will lead to less revenue to the lib god, the government.
