could anyone tell me why we need fingerprint scanners for lunch

I swear I remember being able to, somehow, handle lunches without biometrics. I mean we used to take a couple of minutes at the beginning of the day. The teacher would ask who was having which lunch and who brought their own. If memory serves, they kept the lunch cards in the classroom. Am I wrong on this?

Ummm... so....we as a society cant use innovations to give the students more...chill time?

Oh BTW big brother is watching you. Serious tho, why should we be concerned?

End times are here huh?

Why dont you just come out and say. My faith(not your suspicions, conspiracy theories and the like), and the end time teachings are starting to bare fruit?

Does this supriuse you MTJ?

Somehow its all tied into this almost gaurded propiety-bridged, sociopathic behaviour...suspicions, innuendo, instead of facts; are general practices amongst liberals they like to call these bridges common sense.

So why should we have any suspicions of wrong doing?

Are they (school) violating their civil rights?

Did you watch the video? They gave you some reasons as to why. I know...I know...its a ploy, an evil act, the beast is now finger printing our children. So whats the real reason of suspicion? Is there any?... sounds that way?

Your faith would tell you that these things are signs of the lords coming. Rejoice!!

Why is this GOOD to begin with Bigdog? I don't see the need. Kid's already have student id's. They show the id and get a punch ticket to use or a card which acts like a debit card with said number of credits used every time the card is used.
There is NO reason why you need to get the thumbprint for this.

Yeh right.... i never said it was good. I asked why we should be concerned. The video stated why they are doing it. Seems to streamline the lunchline.

My kids use ID's at their high school. If the lose their card or it is stolen; what happens?. All those credits can be used by another kid. Has this happened to my children? No it hasnt, but they have told me it has happened to others. Imagine ID theft happening nowadays...DOH!!!

In KL a couple years ago a guy got his Benz stolen. He had a fingerprint reader installed on the door handle. The problem was he never received his hand back. Someone should of paid out for an RFID chip. Fingerprint and voiceprints are the same as leaving a dozen hard keys where you visit everyday. Simple is easy. Easy is cheesy.

So, you agree that we should do away social security numbers?

Anonymous said...

Ummm... im correcting myself...lol

I asked my kids about it again. They said the ID's are used for library books, a code is used for lunches....my bad.

Parents have been bitching about paying for missing books their kids never checked out. Someone using their lost/stolen ID did and the cost was passed onto the unsuspecting parents.

Once again i asked a question and you ignore it. Spouting off some bullshit isnt answering anything. BTW i wont join your little unfounded reasons for resistance. Your idiocy is the classic venue here.

In reality Miles im so tired of your Bullshit. Seriously dood, grow some fucking balls and tell me why we should be concerned. You rhetorically say shit all the time and then you reference common sense. So, oh guru of common sense, why should we be concerned?

Tell me why we should be concerned....do i need to repeat? AGAIN!!! (bitch slaps Miles)

Did the parents of these kids volunteer their finger prints? If so, WTF concern is it of yours.

Did your mom and dad volunteer your baby footprints and fingers...etc. HuH??? what about newborn blood?? huh?? They got records of your DNA too, dumbass.

Got some real concerns??..lets talk about it. Talking shit only shows your blatant ignorance.

Government schools, aka State Conditioning Centers, should be banned.

We should be concerned because there are reports of government data-mining various things, creating databases of biometrics, DNA, fingerprints, etc.

The point of my statement was, if it isn't inherently good, then it usually is no good. We should ask ourselves why they would push these types of technologies when there is no need, no market.

Usually technology grows, and what one day can be children paying for lunch with a fingerprint can one day become BigDog making his house payment with a thumb scan.

Fingerprints can't be duplicated, but they can be lifted and replicated, however, they can't be replaced.

It's bad enough we go through day to day leaving fingerprints everywhere as it is, being that fingerprints are continuously used to put people in prison. What happens when the time comes that someone can use your fingerprints to completely steal your identity? What happens when they use those fingerprints to obtain explosives or otherwise supporting terrorism?

Our government justifies torture and spying based on malicious intent of the target, even using entrapment, in the case of the Florida "cell".

When you start to "Accept" biometric practices as "normal business" then when someone does start to do something malicious with it, it becomes harder to believe, and harder to uncover and fight against.

Stop the growth at the root before it sprouts into a monster.

So im suppost to read your mind knowing full well your point. Once again you show me NO legitimate concern of an age old practice. These parents volunteered their kids thumb prints for scanning. They had to either A) go back to their NEWBORN prints and steal them and the mandate scanning practices or B) the parents volunteer them for identification.

Again what concern of it of yours if their parents volunteered their prints.

My two concerns:
Did they force them into this?

Did they violate their rights?

With you nutjobs its all about the boogy man or to many Tom Cruise movies... So since birth they have cropped your DNA, finger prints, footprints, retna patterns(somewhat new tech) ...etc all biometrics. Biometrics is not seperate, they are one in the same.

All these "normal business" practices have been part of this society since birth of mordern technology and even thru old school tech they got your DNA and other biometrics....DUH!!!!!

So once again you act on fear of the unknown/whats to come. Im sorry you like living this way.

Fingerprinting, and small-scale biometrics for ID purposes is one thing.

Databases linked to an "Account" with "fingerprint deductible" funds is another.

"Again what concern of it of yours if their parents volunteered their prints."

It's my concern, because once the rest of you zombies are okay with this being the standard, I will have little choice in the matter. Either sign my kids up for it, or live backwoods.

Miles: "Fingerprinting, and small-scale biometrics for ID purposes is one thing.

WTF dood. Fingerprinting is small scale biometrics. The account in question is a school account, set up by the parents...not their local bank accounts. The only gotcha would be if they are somehow getting interest off these accounts and not paying any dividends/interest earned to the parents.

--------------------------------

????small scale biometrics????

HEY DUMBASS!!!! THEY HAVE HAD YOUR DNA SINCE BIRTH. WHEN DO WE USE DNA FOR EVERYDAY "small scale" ID PURPOSES?!!!!!? (damn straight im yelling at a 5 year old here)

Blatant ignorance is overwhelming....DOH!!!!

Miles queefed in fearfull speculation:

"It's my concern, because once the rest of you zombies are okay with this being the standard, I will have little choice in the matter. Either sign my kids up for it, or live backwoods."

In the video i saw i kid not scan his finger and he still got his lunch. Is he a kid that had parents that said NO WAY!!!...Then i support that decision...its their right....oh the days of a sack lunch are over...DOH!!!

Damn the finger foods...lol

So again, any rights violated here?

The rest is just fearfull speculation. However you do have a point about ID theft and possible framing someone for a crime. The later is a good point Miles, but ID theft prevention is another growing industry. Just like your boofer industry, this industry leads to more tax revenues. So is this perpetrated by the government for monetary gains?

Things that make you say hmmmmmm.

Again, I say, this is the BEGINNING. There is a difference between "The beginning" and "The way"

I mean look at the FISA discussion. spying started out as something only done on occasion, never to be done when our own citizens are involved.

Now we get told "If you have nothing to hide...."

I never said that I agreed with the government DNA mining.

In fact, it goes to support why I fear this.

I never said that I feared this as being something inherently crooked, My fear is this is to indoctrinate the next generation into using biometrics on a daily basis for everything.

Once again, If it isn't a "Good" thing, why do it....what ever happened to the question..."Is it "Good" for the children?"

My concern, is that what today is a school lunch account will be tomorrows credit card. What today is used to cash a check at the grocery store, will be used to make the purchases at the same store.

You're allowing personal vulnerability and giving datamining and the possibility of identity theft to others, in the name of convenience.

So again, any rights violated here?

Does there need to be? When you convince someone to give away their rights, you don't need to violate them. That's the whole point in being afraid of Bin Laden right?

Miles "You're allowing personal vulnerability and giving datamining and the possibility of identity theft to others, in the name of convenience"

No im not. Ill say it again. It was obviously the parents decision one way or the other. I support either decision because no rights were violated.

BTW im not saying your fear isnt warranted but why should we be concerned was answered. For the most part your concerns seem to be 1984 fear based speculations.

You don't blame me?
RFID on our license plates, Biometrics on our driver's licenses, Passports required for humans crossing north american borders but only random inspections for everything else...

I could go on...
