Question:
If you're driving down a 2 lane road and a sign says lef lane closed ahead, are you a jerk for waiting till you ge to the actual closure to merge. Why should everyone merge way back 2 miles before the close?

I don't think that the late getters-over are jerks but I do think that they are rightly at the mercy of the early getters-over for a spot when they do eventually try to merge. And I'm grateful to live in a place where I know that it won't take long before someone does let them over too.
I think you already know the answer, jerk.
I guess it really does take all kinds to make the traffic go round.
