SENATOR JESSE HELMS
On December 15, 1987, Senator Helms delivered a speech before Congress that contained, in part, the following comments. [Quoting:]

This campaign against the American people - against traditional American culture and values - is systematic psychological warfare. It is orchestrated by a vast array of interests comprising not only the Eastern establishment but also the radical left. Among this group we find the Department of State, the Department of Commerce, the money center banks and multinational corporations, the media, the educational establishment, the entertainment industry, and the large tax-exempt foundations.

Mr. President, a careful examination of what is happening behind the scenes reveals that all of these interests are working in concert with the masters of the Kremlin in order to create what some refer to as a New World Order. Private organizations such as the Council on Foreign Relations, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, the Trilateral Commission, the Dartmouth Conference, the Aspen Institute for Humanistic Studies, the Atlantic Institute [or Council"?], and the Bilderberger Group serve to disseminate and to coordinate the plans for this so-called New World Order in powerful business, financial, academic, and official circles...

The psychological campaign that I am describing, as I have said, is the work of groups within the Eastern establishment, that amorphous amalgam of wealth and social connections whose power resides in its control over our financial system and over a large portion of our industrial sector. The principal instrument of this control over the American economy and money is the Federal Reserve System. The policies and the industrial sectors, primarily the multinational corporations, are influenced by the money center banks through debt financing and through the large blocks of stock controlled by the trust departments of the money center banks.

Anyone familiar with American history, and particularly American economic history, cannot fail to notice the control over the Department of State and the Central Intelligence Agency which Wall Street seems to exercise...

The influence of establishment insiders over our foreign policy has become a fact of life in our time. This pervasive influence runs contrary to the real long-term national security of our Nation. It is an influence which, if unchecked, could ultimately subvert our constitutional order.

The viewpoint of the establishment today is called globalism. Not so long ago, this viewpoint was called the "One-World" view by its critics. The phrase is no longer fashionable among sophisticates; yet, the phrase "One World" is still apt because nothing has changed in the minds and actions of those promoting policies consistent with its fundamental tenets.

Mr. President, in the globalist point of view, nation-states and national boundaries do not count for anything. Political philosophies and political principles seem to become simply relative. Indeed, even constitutions are irrelevant to the exercise of power. Liberty and tyranny are viewed as neither necessarily good nor evil, and certainly not a component of policy.

In this point of view, the activities of international financial and industrial forces should be oriented to bringing this one-world design - with a convergence of the Soviet and American systems as its centerpiece - into being... All that matters to this club is the maximization of profits resulting from the practice of what can be described as finance capitalism, a system which rests upon the twin pillars of debt and monopoly. This isn't real capitalism. It is the road to economic concentration and to political slavery. [End quoting.]

Embassy Baghdad” will dwarf new U.S. embassies elsewhere, projects that typically cover 10 acres. The embassy’s 104 acres is six times larger than the United Nations compound in New York, and two-thirds the acreage of Washington’s National Mall.

Estimated cost of over $1 billion
Original cost estimates ranged over $1 billion, but Congress appropriated only $592 million in the emergency Iraq budget adopted last year. Most has gone to a Kuwait builder, First Kuwaiti Trading & Contracting, with the rest awarded to six contractors working on the project’s “classified” portion — the actual embassy offices.

Apr. 13--James Mundy's campaign to create a black-owned, Internet-only bank brought him to Pittsburgh several times last December, his visits culminating in a series of breakfasts, lunches and dinners at The Rivers Club with the Rev. William Curtis of the Mount Ararat Baptist Church.

The trips from Boston paid off for Mr. Mundy.

In January, the East Liberty church became the first African-American church in the country to invest money in Mr. Mundy's new national banking venture, called BankBlackwell. While its investment was relatively small -- $50,000 -- the participation of Pittsburgh's largest black church (7,500 members) knocked loose similar-size investments from the Macedonia Baptist Church in the Hill District and several churches in other states, including South Carolina, Georgia, California, Michigan, Texas, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C.

Why invest the church's money?

While the Rev. Curtis, 39, believes most banks in Pittsburgh are "pretty responsive" to the black community, the thought of creating a national black-owned bank was too exciting to resist. "I want to see [BankBlackwell] succeed," he said.

BankBlackwell is targeting black churches nationwide in its effort to raise $16.5 million in capital by June 23 -- a deadline set by regulators. Mr. Mundy says he has $5 million to 6 million in hand now. The goal is to open the first black-owned bank with a national footprint -- albeit without physical branches -- and recycle the growing wealth of African Americans back into city neighborhoods via mortgages, development assistance and financing for traditional pillars of the African-American community, such as churches.

Banks -- the center of wealth in any community -- still are largely out of the hands of African Americans. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation lists only 45 black-owned institutions in the United States -- and none has more than $1 billion in assets. The largest is New York's Carver Federal Savings Bank, with $648 million in assets. Most black-owned banks are regional in scope, focusing almost exclusively on their cities of origin, and many find it difficult to compete with the larger, better-financed banks in their communities.

Pittsburgh's only contribution to the national list is The Dwelling House Savings & Loan Association, based in the Hill District. The Dwelling House, which Robert Lavelle took over in 1957, was the first lender to target the low-income Hill neighborhood, and it still provides credit to people who otherwise would be turned down. Its asset base of $19.9 million ranks 40th nationally, out of 45 black-owned institutions.

Mr. Mundy, the founder of BankBlackwell, is a former executive with Boston-based OneUnited Bank, the second-largest African-American-owned bank in the country with $540 million in assets. He left OneUnited in 2003 to create a bank without any branches, operating entirely on the Internet. Other such cyber banks already exist, but none is owned by an African American, according to Mr. Mundy.

OneUnited, Mr. Mundy's old employer, began offering online banking earlier this year, saying it will open accounts for customers anywhere in the country.

Executives with OneUnited have argued that Mr. Mundy's idea will appeal only to the affluent and that most customers still feel more comfortable placing their money at physical banks -- rather than those that exist entirely in cyberspace.

Mr. Mundy admits that his target is middle- and upper-income black Americans, citing the growth in black wealth across the United States. The number of black households with more than $50,000 in income is up from 2 million in the early 1990s to almost 4 million a decade later, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. And wealthy blacks are "more inclined than their white counterparts to make purchasing decisions based on community or race," writes Mr. Mundy in a pitch to potential investors.

It makes sense for Mr. Mundy to target black churches as part of his fund-raising effort -- there are 70,000 in the United States with 21 million members who tend to be wealthier and better educated than non-church goers, he said. The woman who made many of the first introductions for Mr. Mundy in Pittsburgh was 46-year-old Madelyn Toliver, a Mount Ararat church member and independent human resources consultant.

And Mr. Mundy is not the only one to use black churches as a conduit for new business. Chuck Sanders, for example, sponsors gospel concerts and hands out leaflets after Sunday services as a way of promoting Urban Settlement Services, a business that helps with real estate closings, and Urbanmortgage.com, a company that provides home ownership loans. Retired Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis is a partner in Urbanmortgage.com.

Relying on churches for investment capital is "something old that has become new again," said Mr. Sanders, 41, who works from the Hill. "It's nothing that African Americans didn't do 50 to 100 years ago."

Maybe Bigdog was right and this whole deal was a way to boost oil prices to force other methods to become cheap to get us off oil from the Middle East.

Here are the official estimates:

8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia
18-times as much oil as Iraq
21-times as much oil as Kuwait
22-times as much oil as Iran
500-times as much oil as Yemen
…And it’s all right here in the Western United States.

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says, “We’ve got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East.”

More than 2 TRILLION barrels. Untapped.

What I can say is that I doubt that the people running the show have my best interest at heart. Real income increases for average wage earners has not gone up much during the last five years.

There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. The alternative is only whether the crisis should come sooner as a result of the voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved.

Thanks to loose credit, consumer debt has soared. It was roughly $10 trillion when Greenspan took over the Fed in 1987. Now it's $37.3 trillion - or nearly 350% of GDP.

Meanwhile, the government spends money on credit even faster. This administration has already borrowed more money since 2000 than every White House since the time of Washington. And by 2017 - says the Heritage Foundation - our federal deficits should be soaring by at least $1 trillion per year. After that, it will jump to $2 trillion.

Koza made a drawing of his new circuit and showed it to a colleague, who told him that it was a low-pass filter—a circuit used for cleaning up the signal passing through an amplifier. He also learned that someone had taken out a patent on it, which made him wonder whether genetic programming could evolve other patented circuits from scratch. He programmed the machine to design circuits with the attributes of other patented devices and started churning out infringements by the dozen. “That’s when we began to see that genetic programming could be human-competitive,” he says. “If you remake a patented circuit, you’re doing something that people consider inventive.”

Russ, as reasonable as you are, how have you not come to the conclusion that there is a God? Since the probability of life by chance is so comically low, there is only one answer. Jesus fulfilled 300 prophecies. The chance of that happening is 1 in 2^300. That is sufficient proof that there is a God and that Jesus is "the way, the truth, etc."

Mike: Popular Science has been around a long time at least since the 30’s, I have no reason to doubt their professional honesty. It would seem from the article that everything could be redesigned for optimum efficiency.
I don’t have a fear of dying per say but I would like the chance not to grow old which is what the Singularity promises to do for people in the future, if Man doesn’t destroy himself first. Of course many counties in the world are falling apart and the West is and will continue to be forced to take in many millions of refugees.

As far as your question about God and Jesus, I will say that I am a writer and I have written many rough drafts then went back over the material cleaning up problems but since I now know the end I could always make all the logical inconsistencies consistent. Your statement about Jesus really doesn’t mean a whole lot. If you read the Old Testament you would have to come to the conclusion that God is one evil bastard. I won’t even get into the idea that a perfect God would knowingly create imperfect beings. What would be the point of creating people when you know everything that person is going to do. It makes no sense. Reading Revelations makes no sense either. Look at what happened to Judas. Christ said believe in me and you will have everlasting life but when he told Judas that he would betray him that Judas would basically get special torment treatment from God. The disciples thought that the Kingdom of Heaven was coming to a town near them and yet it has been over two thousand years and no Kingdom.
You are leaving out the idea that time is a manmade concept and that if the universe has been created and destroyed time and time again then it would be quite possible for random chance to have created us; in fact we may have been created an infinite number of times.

Pascal’s Wager is where I fall on this debate.

More proof of Jewish influence in this country.

The Progressive Jewish Alliance, a Los Angeles-based group that has been in the forefront of efforts to secure rights for immigrant workers, sent a representative as part of a clergy-based group that participated in the Washington rally.

Frist's approach was blasted by the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, the organization that tends to set policy for the Jewish community. HIAS is part of faith-based coalitions supporting the more liberal approaches to immigration reform proposed by Senator Edward Kennedy, a Massachusetts Democrat, and Senator John McCain, an Arizona Republican.

I think I am going to move on to other issues. The evidence as to who controls this country is overwhelming. 'They' are well on their way to destroying the West.

Russ, I reread that popular science article and it is a healthful mix of awe and fright.

As far as God being evil, you are superimposing the rules for humans being good and evil on the Creator of all things. The Father may do whatever He wishes including judge and execute.

If God is perfect as He claims and we know that perfection is exclusive by nature, then not God is imperfection. How would it suprise anyone that humans are imperfect?

As far as God's motives for creating humans, by definition, no natural being can understand the supernatural. It reminds me of love and women. It is beautiful when a woman, of her own volition, loves a man. How much more beautiful would it be for man, of his own free will, to love the Father? The fact that it makes no sense to us reveals the supernatural implication.

Was Jesus wrong about Judas? No. Were the disciples wrong? Yes and no. The kingdom of heaven is a constant but does not exist in the material world.

Time is and is not manmade. We use manmade time to measure actual time. Being 1:00PM is manmade but is not now after earlier?

Does not the watch imply the watchmaker? What is the probability of a watch with the timex label and the made in china sign on the back occurring by chance? Surely, if you found such a watch, you would not assume chance. How much more complicated is the human body, let alone the design of the universe?

Russ, you are trying too hard to not accept the obvious. Why is that? Rich Brilliant had the same problem. It is an active attempt to avoid the truth. In fact, you know the bible well enough that you reveal your belief. We all know what the lion's den reveals.

Mike talking: One more thing, Russ. I can only imagine why you blamed the Jews for the death of Jesus. Hate, like love, is blinding at times.

Russ talking: Mike while it is true that the Romans actually strung Christ up it is also fair to say that without Jewish pressure the Romans would have left Christ alone. He was not calling for the overthrow of Rome. You remember the Rodney King episode. Billions of dollars of property damage and the deaths of at least fifty people mainly white, caused by the release of a clip taken by one guy. If this guy hadn’t released the clip all those people wouldn’t have died. I am not trying to make the two issues equal because the Jewish leadership at that time wanted Christ dead and they got the Romans to do the deed for them. How many Jews stood up and said no?

Mike talking: Russ, I reread that popular science article and it is a healthful mix of awe and fright.

Russ talking: Mike: In the article it simply illustrated an evolutionary process.

Russ talking: What I am saying is that the game has been fixed. And ‘we’ are the losers. If you take examples from the Old Testament and the New Testament replacing the word God with Mike; what else would you call what Mike has done to people but evil.

Mike talking: If God is perfect as He claims and we know that perfection is exclusive by nature, then not God is imperfection. How would it surprise anyone that humans are imperfect?

Russ talking: He either is perfect or he is not. Michelangelo was not a perfect artist though I am not sure what a perfect artist is but nonetheless he would never have created a piece of crap. You say that perfection is exclusive by nature but aren’t you just putting your human sense of order onto a chaotic nature?

Mike talking: As far as God's motives for creating humans, by definition, no natural being can understand the supernatural. It reminds me of love and women. It is beautiful when a woman, of her own volition, loves a man. How much more beautiful would it be for man, of his own free will, to love the Father? The fact that it makes no sense to us reveals the supernatural implication.

Russ talking: Man doesn’t have a free will under your paradigm. Here is your choice: love me or burn in hell: some choice. If I am made from God or in his image then I can understand parts of him. The fact is that the bible paints God as jealous and angry. Two attributes that is very human. The fact is that from your position God might as well be the Easter Bunny.

Mike talking: Was Jesus wrong about Judas? No. Were the disciples wrong? Yes and no. The kingdom of heaven is a constant but does not exist in the material world.

Russ talking: Your right Jesus knew what Judas was going to do because we have no free will. Look at what happened to the Pharaoh. He was going to let Moses go but what did God do? He hardened his heart. Could it be that Pharaoh actually had free will just for a split second?

Mike talking: Time is and is not manmade. We use manmade time to measure actual time. Being 1:00PM is manmade but is not now after earlier?

Russ talking: I am pregnant and I am not pregnant. Come on! We give all meaning to time just like we give all meaning to God.

Mike talking: Does not the watch imply the watchmaker? What is the probability of a watch with the Timex label and the made in china sign on the back occurring by chance? Surely, if you found such a watch, you would not assume chance. How much more complicated is the human body, let alone the design of the universe?

Russ talking: Only in your limited thinking. The probability is zero since the watch is obviously made by some person. The watch does not evolve on its own it only evolves as Man changes it from one model to the next model. But the human body is part of evolutionary process where it has evolved over time and changed much like the ‘guys’ program illustrated in the Popular Science article. We know that at the microscopic level that life changes over time given new stresses in that life’s environment. There is now something like 6 different strains of AIDS.
If God is outside of the universe then how did he design the universe let alone react with it? You say that nature is perfect then it follows that God must be perfect making it impossible for him to create imperfect beings. But since you say that ‘we’ are imperfect then God has to be imperfect leading one to conclude that God is no God. And then there is the question of who created God? If you say that God had no beginning and no end and therefore was not created then why not the watch as well, in fact I is say that God is a watch.

Mike talking: Russ, you are trying too hard to not accept the obvious. Why is that? Rich Brilliant had the same problem. It is an active attempt to avoid the truth. In fact, you know the bible well enough that you reveal your belief. We all know what the lion's den reveals.

Russ talking: Rich Brilliant is a Jew. He doesn’t believe in Jesus. I avoid nothing. I believe that we will all end up where we are supposed to end up.

Russ, you forgot your basic logic. I won't use the p's and q's. A can be B and not B at the same time BUT NOT IN THE SAME CONTEXT.

Let me guess...the jews made either logic, time, or both, right?
