This is a rough draft of a survey that will be posted in the politics sections of Craigslist in multiple cities. Participants will respond through a CLsurvey blog or something and the responses will be automatically posted.

It could use a little re-wording and a few more questions, your contributions would have at least some far-reaching effects and would be very much appreciated.

1. Would you be more or less likely to vote if elections were held on weekends?

2. Where do you primarily get your information about candidates and ballot issues before you vote?

3. Have you ever voted straight down a political party line without even knowing who you were voting for? If so, how many times?

4. If you could change anything about how your own political party stands on particular issues, what would it be?

5. Have you ever voted for a "third party" candidate?

6. Are you confident that electronic voting is accurate and secure?

Sales Tax Takes A Permanent Vacation For Localvores?

The rights to use a "made in the KC area" label on all foods and goods that are produced 100% locally could be granted to items that qualify and those items would be exempt from sales tax. This would enable the local economy to better compete with outside companies. Also, free business licenses for small local businesses would be sweet.

Credit Hustles

These cards offer no interest for a period of time on balance transfers
Citi - Capitol1 - Discover

So if you have credit card debt (or even auto loan debt or home loan debt plus good credit) and you don't want to pay interest on it ever again, just keep rotating your entire balance between the cards within the grace periods and never pay interest again.

If you want to improve your credit, you might try a variation of the Trump methods. First you'll need a decent amount of cash. Then you take let's say $3,000 and purchase three $1,000 CDs from three different banks. Then later, you go to the banks and take out three $1,000 loans using the CDs as collateral. Don't spend the money loaned, just use it to make the payments on time, there will be a negligible amount of interest that you will have to pay and you will recover some of that when the CDs mature. The next year, again purchase the three $1,000 CDs but this time you should be able to borrow at least $2,000 from the banks using only a $1,000 CD as collateral. Again, just make the payments on time. The next year, you should be able to walk in to any of those banks and borrow 3K-5K with no collateral at all. Rinse and Repeat until you have the credit rating of a millionaire on the budget of an average joe, then make safe and solid business or real estate investments. Your returns just need to be a bit higher than the interest you pay to enjoy a nice return when the money is that big so no need to take on risky ventures. When your investments are hundreds of thousands of dollars, returns in tens of thousands of dollars shouldn't be a problem. It sounds like a slow process but it would take very little time to manage and you would likely double or triple your income in like five years, something that moving up some corporate ladder probably isn't going to do.

take it, leave it, recycle, whatever, enjoy

It's interesting how most people will talk big shit but then fight tooth and nail to avoid having an actual discussion of facts with a "truther".
_______

Re: lies? (west port) Truthin ain't easy =D

Well, (west port), those people that you mentioned, as shady as they may have been were way before 9/11, which is what the discussion with Dealz is about, 9/11. The facts that I'm "bitching" about are that Bushies lied about lots of shit, not just Iraq, and yes, they DID use 9/11 as justification for Iraq even when they knew that the two were NOT connected. I posted a ton of info about lies that center around 9/11. I believe that 9/11 was an inside job and people who give the administration the benefit of the doubt will ignore the facts they don't want to hear about 9/11. So I'm trying to make it abundantly clear that these people's word has no credibility when compared with the facts. And Dealz says that what I posted was not actually facts but he/she refuses to disprove them.

Sometimes things get really distorted when viewed out of context but when viewed in context the truth is easier to see.
Here are the previous related discussion links in order:

There is a campaign in place to redesign our currency with the intention to better compete with the euro. http://richardsmith.posterous.com The currency redesigns are added and voted on by the blog's visitors. As far as I can tell, the FED has not even considered using any of the designs.

The Lone Gunmen - full pilot ep

" One retrospectively interesting aspect of this pilot episode is that the airliner has been hijacked (via remote control of the plane's autopilot) and, by the end, both Byers and his father have boarded the plane to try to stop the hijacking. Through the aid of the other Gunmen, they are able to regain control of the plane and just miss crashing into the World Trade Center with the airliner. This, of course, was before the actual 9/11 attack against the World Trade Center later that year. Astonishingly similar to the actual arguments made about 9/11 by "conspiracy theorists", the episode's plot indicates that the hijacking was committed as an act of voracity by a greedy American arms manufacturer to ultimately increase its weapons sales by invoking U.S. retaliation against a scapegoated anti-American extremist dictator. Reality Check!!!.

The Tea-party is the something for nothing crowd. The Republicans fear these idiots because they can split the party into diffrent fractions.

The Libertarians are tools of the Republican party. They are kept funded by the repo's to give the
illusion of a third party.

Bill said...

BS if anything Liberterians steal votes from Repubs. Look at Missouri Dems are championing third parties this election because they know the only other alternative is the tea party

Anonymous said...

Bill,

Why doesn't the libertarians mount
a strong stand against the republicans?. The republicans are using the people in the tea party with groups like Freedomworks,Newt Gingrich's org,and groups that have strong ties to Wall Street.

I don't doubt the tea party's origins began with the ideas that Ron Paul talk about. But it seems to me and a lot of people that follow politics that
the tea party has been taken over by the corporate elites that you regular guys seem to hate.

As far as Mo. You may have a point. The rural parts of the state are democrats but they tend to be conservative. Ike Skelton is having issues because of the D at the end of his name. If they go to the tea-baggers well they go. I would like to see your data that says demo's in Missouri are backing third party folks.

These douchebaggers just don't get it. Our outstanding debt is closing in on 100% of our annual GDP. If you aren't calling for the immediate reduction of spending and taxation, you are either an idiot, a subversive, or a combination like John.

Bill said...

John,

The Libeterian organizational skills are pretty lackluster to say the least. The reality is to win in politics you have to be able to play the game which most Libeterian candidates refuse to do.

I don't have a problem with big corporations until they begin to work with government to allow unfair policies, I do believe there are still a number of Tea Partiers who stand on their own beliefs thus making it difficult for the whole movement to be hijacked.

Anonymous said...

Bill,

This is why I and a lot of people don't take the libertarians real serious. It run a lot of candidates who aren't real serious and it is a joke because of it's ability not to organized.

I don't have issue with big corporations as long as they play by the rules. I want to see a strong federal goverment that will protect us from the power of big corporations. I think there are maybe tea party people who stand on their own beliefs but the majority are just pissed of because they don't like the fact a black man is president.

Washington's Farewell Address was written at a time when he and the second Potus John Adams wanted to keep the United States out of the war between France and England.

They knew it was a bad thing for the young United States to get involved in that war without a strong army and no navy.

The times are diffrent from the time of the first President till our current President. When we came across the water's for trade and commerce we became involved in the affairs of Europe. This was going to happend because of trade and emerging technologies.

Put Washington's statement in the context of the times he lived in is my point.

Hey John,

I'm glad we can agree on something but i'm not so sure people hate Obama because he's black. I seem to remember people impeaching
Bill Clinton and he was the cloest thing to a fiscal conservative this country has had in a very long time but it was because he had a D next to his name. When you mention companies not playing by the rules don't you think in some ways the government helps them do so?

Anonymous said...

I like to know what are the tea-baggers are willing to give up?. I haven't heard anything from anyone like Dana Roesch,Freedomworks,or the Koch brothers.

Mike doesn't want to call them out? Fine. Again the JFiles isn't
cutting edge. They are GUTLESS!!.

The Tea Party is not for a reduction in military spending. No tea party candidate every mentioned cutting the military. Why do libs hate the military so much?

Anonymous said...

If you call for a reduction of military spending it doesn't mean you hate the military. I think we have a "bloated military budget" We should focus on better pay and better care for our soldier's for the time they are deployed and when they come home. We should take care of the famlies when they make the ultimate sacrifice. Money should go for training of our special forces, inteligence gathering. Not to many mainstream
democratic/libs have called for that.

This plays into a question that I ask a lot of tea-party/bagger's type's. What are you willing to give up or cut to reduce the debt? I just haven't heard anything from these folks on this.

Make's me wonder??.

John

Illuminaughty said...

After listening to MTJ for a decade, I know he hates the military. His take on the Haditha Hypothetical embodies that. That was when Mr. All-Criminals-Are-Innocent-Even-After-Found-Guilty joined Jackass Murtha in finding those soldiers guilty before even examining the facts of the case. By the way, they were all found not guilty.

That's funny. I ask the douchebaggers the same question. The answer is always the same: the military (20%). 46% of federal spending is deficit spending. I guess we need to cut our military more than twice each year.

I call BULLSHIT!!! the term majority denotes over 50%.

John Queefed: "I think there are maybe tea party people who stand on their own beliefs but the majority are just pissed of because they don't like the fact a black man is president."

I see your black panther party and raise you the tea party movement...:rolls-eyes:

Your pining for an issue that has not been proven. However most blacks would like it to be true or somehow project skin color, instead of content of character, into any discussion.

The real issue amongst blacks, using the same injections in the above quote from John.....is that John doesn't want the first black president to fail, as a black president; In lay the chance another black man may never get elected conducive to such epic failure. So his own fear of a black mans/president failure. This fear makes him say things, like the above, because he takes security in projecting racism onto others and would easily lead to blaming the white man....going for that whole "white guilt thing" if this president fails(policies). You see its not the judgment of ones character that John defers to, but only the color a presidents skin. Dictating the onus of racism tied to and within the tea-party. Of which he says is the majority. !!!BUULLSSHITTTT!!!

Need i mention people like John have bitched about having a third party also. Now a movement starting during or around Ron Paul's efforts and his obvious ignorance. Well ummmm. You see.
Johns demonstrating his lack of character. His own fear allows him to indulge in such antiquated tactics, using the basis of skin color as some sort of gaff against anybody who disagrees with Obamma's politics and policies.

You know who i am.

The Liberal-nator.

Where the termination of liberal ideology is my plight.
